What is The One80 System?
The One80 System® is a patented evaluation and treatment process used by medical professionals to get to the root cause of orthopedic injury and discomfort. By assessing and treating the physiological phenomenon called neuromuscular inhibition, One80 quickly and effectively eliminates symptoms like pain, swelling and loss of motion.
Through unique post graduate training, One80 System professionals have the ability to quickly assess total body function, then specific muscle function. Once neuromuscular dysfunction is found, they can easily re-establish normal nerve/muscle communication. This is what decreases and eliminates the issues that cause pain and injury.
Professionals who practice the One80 System have completed five months of training, including 20 hours of hands on lab work, in addition to their post graduate degrees. This allows them to provide patients with unique and personalized care.
The One80 Difference
Founder of TheOne80 System, Dr. Rhett Polka PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, explains why he created this new approach to treat physical therapy. Josh Palcic, PT, DPT and Evan Hammons, PT, DPT of Breaking Through Intensive Physical Therapy are the only One80 System providers in the Greater Cleveland area.
Opposite of Conventional Physical Therapy, Chiropractic & Massage
The reason why we don't do "conventional physical therapy" is because it doesn't get to the root cause. Conventional physical therapy doesn't return patients to normal function and it focuses too much on pain, swelling and range of motion. The One80 System is designed to get to the root cause, or neuromuscular inhibition.
Although calling for a free consultation and scheduling an initial evaluation is by far the best way to understand the One80 difference, we'll try to simplify here. At Breaking Through Intensive Therapy, by implementing The One80 System of Physical Therapy we:
1. Perform a full functional screen to assess the whole body for each visit. Although your pain may be manifesting in the low back, shoulder, knee or foot, the body may be adapting to an injury, or weakness, in another area. The assessment ensures we aren't neglecting that area to focus on the pain. The solution to your pain can many times be to strengthen other weaknesses in the body.
2. Treat each patient with hands-on methods at every visit. To treat the cause of your pain or sports injury we use specific, hands-on physical therapy to re-educate your body.
3. We teach you what we find, how you became injured, or what is causing the pain. In order to prevent future injuries or pain flair-ups we spend a lot of time educating our patients. We create a customized program to strengthen your body faster and avoid repeat visits.
WHAT THEY SAY...
What do our sports rehab and physical therapy patients say about Breaking Through?
I went to see Dr Josh about an old arm injury from a few years back. I was in pain daily and my hand would often go numb. I had 2 cortisone shots and was recommended to not use my arm and that eventually I would need surgery. Dr Josh was great at explaining what he found during my consultation and gave me workouts to take home. Because I live over an hour away he was clear and reasonable with expectations. After 3 weeks of doing exercises I am still sleeping comfortably and my hand has not gone numb once, and I am using my arm in daily tasks again! I highly recommend giving Breaking Through a try, you won’t be sorry!!
I suffer from chronic back pain (ruptured two discs in lower back 10 years ago). I re-injured my back last week while working out to the point where it was hard to walk, sit, stand, and basically move. My pain was so bad that I had to take a break from working out, which wasn’t good for my own mental health. I decided to try Breaking Through. I have had one session so far with Evan and seriously I feel like a new person. The next day I was back at the gym working out to full strength and stamina. It’s amazing how much he has helped me! Thank you Evan! If you are suffering from pain and limited on what you can do than give them a call!
